A Massachusetts man is continuing a store’s hot streak after winning some big money in a State Lottery instant game.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Dipak Thapa of Nantucket is the winner of a $500,000 top prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$500,000 Frenzy” $50 scratch ticket game.
He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $355,000 (before taxes). He plans on saving and investing his winnings.
He purchased his winning ticket at Old South Diner, 57 Old South Rd. in Nantucket. The store will receive a $5,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
Thapa’s prize adds to a recent streak of big wins purchased at Old South Diner. In March of this year, two $2 million winning tickets were sold at the location, one being a Powerball ticket and the other a “$2,000,000 Stacked” $20 scratch ticket. Before this, on March 11, 2024, a $1 million prize was won on a “$4,000,000 Bonus Bucks” $10 ticket. On June 10, 2024, a $2 million prize was won on a “Lifetime Millions” $50 ticket and on August 20, 2024, another $1 million prize was won on a “$10,000,000 Bonanza” $20 ticket.
“$500,000 Frenzy” has 31 grand prizes remaining.
