Mayor Coogan joins SSTAR, DA’s Office, for Clothesline Project in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

FALL RIVER, MA- On, Friday, Mayor Paul Coogan joined SSTAR’s Women’s Center, and the District Attorney’s Office for the annual Clothesline Project in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Clothesline Project is an interactive exhibit composed of t-shirts made by local survivors of domestic violence that shares messages of resilience, healing, and hope for individuals and communities impacted by intimate partner violence. The annual event provides an opportunity to acknowledge the experiences of those affected by domestic violence and raise awareness throughout the community.

The Clothesline Project is held each October in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month and is organized in partnership with the SSTAR Women’s Center, the Mayor’s Office, and the District Attorney’s Office.

According to SSTAR, the event included the reading of Fall River’s Proclamation Against Domestic Violence, the raising of the DV Awareness flag and the viewing of the Clothesline Project.

The project will be on display through October at City Hall in Fall River.
