State Police arrested a man this week at a social services non-profit who was described as a sexual predator.
According to Rhode Island State Police, in September 2026, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the U.S. Marshals Service in Oklahoma requested assistance from the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force in locating and apprehending 41-year-old Logan Palmer, who was wanted on an Oklahoma Department of Corrections warrant for escape. On July 22, 2026, Palmer escaped from the Jackie Brannon Correctional Facility in McAlester, Oklahoma. Surveillance footage showed him running away from the facility, wearing his tan inmate uniform.
Palmer, whose original conviction was for lewd acts involving a child, was classified as a sexually violent predator.
During the investigation, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force obtained information indicating that Palmer had been frequenting Amos House in Providence.
On Tuesday, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Task Force members observed Palmer standing in the rear parking lot at Amos House. He was taken into custody without incident.
Palmer was transported to the Providence Police Department and subsequently to Sixth Division District Court, where he was arraigned as a fugitive from justice from the State of Oklahoma.
