A Massachusetts man appears to be a good planner as he not only organized a surprise dinner, but has already decided how he will spend his recent big State Lottery win.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Wayne Wilson of Springfield is the winner of a $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Ruby Mine 50X” $5 scratch ticket game.
He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He plans to invest and take a vacation with the winnings.
Wilson won big while his family was out of town, locked the lucky ticket away for four days, and then prepared a celebratory dinner to share the $1 million surprise.
He purchased his winning ticket at A to Z Convenience, 376 Boston Rd. in Springfield. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
One grand prize of $1,000,000 remains unclaimed for this game.
