Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced a motor vehicle fatality that occurred earlier this evening.
Easton Police and EMS were dispatched to the area of 676 Turnpike Street at approximately 6:45 p.m. after receiving 911 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle crash where one of the vehicles burst into flames.
Upon arrival, police located two vehicles that were involved in a collision. The first vehicle was a tractor trailer truck with damage to the front end along with a work style van that was fully engulfed in flames. The operator, and sole occupant, of the tractor trailer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Police located a single occupant in the work van who was pronounced deceased. Identification of the decedent is pending.
The investigation into this matter is active and ongoing by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with Easton Police. No further information is available at this time.
