A Fall River man was arrested after allegedly threatening several people with a machete during a dispute involving his son at Lafayette Park on Thursday evening, police said, while separate fights among juveniles at the same park remain under investigation.
According to the Fall River Police Department, officers responded to Lafayette Park on September 10th around 6pm following reports that an adult male had threatened several individuals with a machete after becoming involved in a dispute concerning his son.
Officers report the man left the area before officers arrived but later returned without the weapon. Officers reviewed video provided by a witness that showed him allegedly brandishing the machete. He was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Several separate physical altercations also occurred among juveniles at the park. Those incidents remain under investigation.
