Two Massachusetts men arrested in Rhode Island on drug charges; held without bail

Two Massachusetts men are facing drug charges after an incident in Rhode Island

According to police, on Saturday, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Patrolman Matthew Lonardo and Patrolman Carlos Dominquez conducted a motor vehicle stop after observing a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations while traveling on Killingly Street in Johnston, Rhode Island.

The vehicle ultimately stopped at the Route 6 West on-ramp near Hartford Avenue. During the investigation, officers observed the passenger attempting to conceal suspected narcotics in his mouth.

The passenger then produced multiple folded manila paper packets from his mouth containing suspected cocaine.

A subsequent search of the vehicle, assisted by a Rhode Island State Police K-9 Unit, resulted in the discovery of additional suspected cocaine concealed within the vehicle, along with digital scales commonly associated with the distribution of narcotics. In total, officers seized approximately 390 grams of suspected cocaine.

James Migliori, 57, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was charged with:

* Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance

* Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act

Robert Witt, 52, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was charged with:

* Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance

* Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act

Both individuals were held without bail and transported to the Adult Correctional Institution pending their formal arraignment in 3d Division District Court, which is scheduled for today.
