Fall River Police investigating after report of woman injured in late night shooting was false

Fall River Police responded late Saturday to what reportedly was a shooting but turned out not to be.

At just before 11:45 p.m., a call came into dispatch from a man reporting that he shot his wife at a residence in the 400 block of South Beach Street.

According to Active Chief JT Hoar, the department received two swatting calls to South Beach Street. Both calls proved to be false.

Hoar stated that FRPD is working to investigate further to identify the source of the calls.
