One arrested, one wanted, after armed robbery of children operating Massachusetts lemonade stand
Authorities have made an arrest after an alleged armed robbery at a Massachusetts lemonade stand.
According to police, on Friday, detectives assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) arrested a 14-year-old juvenile male in South Boston. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to wit; Armed Robbery (two counts) and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (two counts).
The facts and circumstances of the initial incident are as follows:
At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of West Ninth Street in South Boston.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victims, two children who had been operating a lemonade stand at the aforementioned location. The victims stated that the unknown suspects made several passes by the stand before approaching and asking whether Apple Pay would be accepted as payment.
Before the victims could respond, the suspects grabbed a box containing cash. One suspect then displayed a black firearm in his waistband before both individuals fled the area.
