Bystanders and first responders combined to aid a local man who stopped breathing after a collision.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., a call came into dispatch for a vehicle versus a male bicyclist in the area of 2970 Main Road in Tiverton.

Upon arrival, it was learned that the male had stopped breathing, but was revived with CPR.

Dale Birkett Hayden who was on scene due to the incident taking place in the vicinity of her home, credited bystanders for reviving the man.

“Please pray for this man and the young woman who hit him as she was really shaken up as expected. A HUGE shoutout to the gentleman in this photo who immediately began CPR to get him breathing again and to the female physician here who jumped in a few minutes later to help until EMTs arrived.”

We have contacted the Tiverton Police Department for an update on the victim’s condition.
