Mill & Roast Coffee Co. to bring fresh family vibes to Fall River’s historic Durfee Mills
A new Fall River business is looking to satisfy your tastebuds and make you feel at home.
Led by mother-father-daughter trio Hollie Richardson, Ryan Richardson, and Kyla Costa, Mill & Roast Coffee Co. will occupy the historic spot at 405 Pleasant Street inside the Durfee-Union Mills complex. The property is the former home of the Counting House Cocktail Bar & Restaurant, which closed in June 2025.
The eatery will emphasize quality and community, featuring locally roasted beans, freshly milled baked goods, and natural, high-quality ingredients. They’re partnering with local favorites such as Arruda’s Dairy Farm in Tiverton for hormone-free milk and Seven Stars Bakery in Rhode Island for sourdough.
Menu options will include creative lattes (such as Caramelized PB and Toasted Coconut), smoothies, fresh salads, artisan paninis, and baked goods such as cookies made with fresh-milled flour. They also plan to offer breakfast and lunch options, plus outdoor seating in the front courtyard.
Renovations are underway to transform the 3,500-square-foot space into a cozy café with lounge seating, bistro tables, and a reconfigured bar area.
The owners aim to open this summer, though no official date has been announced yet.
