The Cannabis Control Commission (Commission) has released combined gross sales totals from the retail establishments in Leicester and Northampton after the first week of adult-use marijuana sales (ending Sunday, November 25) in Massachusetts.
With only five days of sales due to the Thanksgiving holiday, both facilities managed to gross over $2.2 million dollars combined.
Over 3 units were purchased per person on average with almost $40 dollars spend per unit purchased.
Each individual item is considered one unit even if the item is a multipack.
The state is expected to collect over $350,000 in tax revenue from the first week in sales from Cultivate and New England Treatment Access.
The Commission is not issuing a statement on the data at this time.
