A local police officer is being recognized for how he has gone about his job.

On Wednesday, the Fall River Police Department recognized Officer Tre’Quan Gardner for his compassion, professionalism, and dedication to serving the community.

According to the department, “following a serious motor vehicle crash involving a 78-year-old resident, Officer Gardner remained by the victim’s side throughout the ordeal, providing reassurance, comfort, and care during an incredibly traumatic moment. In a heartfelt letter to the department, the victim described Officer Gardner as her “Guardian Angel,” crediting his calm presence and constant attention with helping her stay conscious until she could be safely extricated from the vehicle.”

In September, at the Massachusetts Coalition of Police Convention, several officers were honored with the Platinum Award for their heroic actions during the Gabriel House fire, including Gardner.
