Massachusetts State Lottery announces first $1 million prize winner in new scratch ticket game

A relatively new Massachusetts State Lottery scratch ticket game has its first big grand prize winner.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, The 1887 Trust of Boston has claimed the first $1 million instant grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Loteria™” $5 instant ticket game.

The trust, represented by trustee Robert Bannish, opted to receive its prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Bannish was joined by fellow trustee Sarah Allen when claiming the prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Appletown Market, 9 Main St. in Sterling. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
