Authorities investigating after body found in river in Fall River

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has announced that an adult male was found deceased in the Quequechan River this morning. 

Just before 9:00 a.m., a civilian caller contacted emergency services after locating a body in the Quequechan River in the area of the Alfred Lima Quequechan Rail Trail (123 feet east of Quequechan Street just north of I-195).  Fall River Officers arrived on scene and pulled a fully clothed unresponsive male from the water onto an embankment. 

Paramedics pronounced the male deceased upon arrival. 

There was no observable trauma to the deceased’s face or body. 

Identification is pending confirmation from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The matter is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office along with the Fall River Police Department.
