Fall River man who was an educator at B.M.C. Durfee High School, Bridgewater State University and Morton has died
A lifelong Fall River resident known for decades as an educator, and for his community work, has died.
91-year-old William Lynch passed away on Wednesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
According to an obituary, Lynch “began his career as a history teacher at B.M.C. Durfee High School. He also taught evening classes at Bridgewater State University and later retired as Vice Principal of Morton Junior High School.”
Lynch was also known for his volunteer work and serving as a Eucharistic minister.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00AM in Holy Name Church, 709 Hanover St., Fall River. The family will greet guests prior to the mass in the entrance of the church from 9:15 to 9:45 AM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 55 Pine St., Fall River, MA 02720. Burial private.
