One dead, another arrested, after report of neighbor dispute in Plymouth County
Massachusetts State Police and Middleborough Police are conducting a death investigation, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz and Middleborough Police Chief Robert Ferreira have jointly announced.
At just before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Middleborough Police received a 911 call for a report of a neighbor dispute at 21 School Street, a multi family residence.
Upon arrival, police located a 68-year-old male unresponsive at the residence. He was transported to Morton Hospital in Taunton where he was pronounced deceased.
Middleborough Police contacted the MSP Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office to begin the investigation.
The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has accepted jurisdiction and will determine cause and manner of death.
In a related incident at the address, a man, who has not yet been identified, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest.
The investigation is ongoing, at this time. This appears to be an isolated incident, and authorities say there is no threat to the public.
