New restaurant chain opening in Fall River next week; here is their menu, their background, and their plan for the grand opening
A new restaurant chain is opening in Fall River in just a few days.
Naz’s Halal Food is coming to 167 Broadway on the side of Papa Johns.
According to their website, Naz’s Halal Food was founded by cousins Naz and Kareem who were public school teachers at the same New York City school.
In 2009, NHF opened a food truck in Queens, NY as a “side business,” inspired by their family’s life-long involvement in restaurant ownership.
NHF opened its first brick and mortar restaurant in January 2018.
Today, the restaurant chain has over 40 locations and is on track to reach 60 by the end of 2025.
Naz’s Halal Food says they believe in treating customers, employees and licensees like family.
Using family recipes, they aim to serve authentic, high-quality halal meals. Good food fast.
NHF offers a quick-service menu blending Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and South Asian flavors. Key offerings include:
- Rice Platters: Chicken, lamb, or combo (chicken and lamb) over seasoned basmati rice, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and signature sauces (white, red, or green). Often paired with pita bread.
- Gyros and Wraps: Chicken or lamb gyro in pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and sauce. Wraps include similar fillings in a flour tortilla.
- Salads: Fresh salads with grilled chicken or lamb, mixed greens, and customizable toppings.
- Falafel: Crispy falafel balls served in platters, wraps, or as sides, with tahini or other sauces.
- Sides: Fries, hummus, baba ghanoush, and mozzarella sticks.
- Desserts: Baklava and other sweets.
- Drinks: Soft drinks, iced tea, and sometimes mango lassi.

Portions are described as generous and prices affordable (e.g., platters typically $8-$12). Customization is a hallmark, with options to adjust spice levels or add extras like falafel or cheese.
According to Afraz Ali, who is opening the location, a soft opening will take place early next week followed by the grand opening on Saturday, January 24th which will feature 2 hours of free lunch meals.
Hours of operation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., 7 days a week.
