A Massachusetts man is thinking of his parents after hitting a big lottery prize recently.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Patrick Regan of Ocean Bluff is the winner of a $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the multi-state game’s Monday, September 13 drawing that featured a $54.6 million jackpot.

Regan won the prize after the first five numbers on his ticket matched those selected in the drawing. He claimed his $1 million prize (before taxes) Thursday, October 2 at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. He said he plans to put the winnings towards a new roof at his parent’s house.

His winning ticket was purchased at Mobil, 145 Church St in Pembroke. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
