Massachusetts woman killed in head on crash on 21st birthday that also injured two others

A Massachusetts woman who turned 21 on Sunday, died from injuries sustained in a crash that also injured two other people.

According to State Police, on Sunday just before 3:00 p.m., State Police Troop “E” Montville dispatched Troopers to the area of Preston Road in the Town of Griswold for the report of a head-on collision.

Serious injuries were reported.

A white 2021 Tesla Model Y operated by Daniel Dantas of Ludlow, MA, was struck head- on by a gray 2024 Tesla Model Y which was operated by Birenkumar Arvindbhai Patel of Jewett City, CT. 

The gray Tesla was traveling southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane of travel and collided with the white Tesla which was traveling northbound.

Due to the collision, Patel and Dantas sustained suspected minor injuries. The white Tesla Model Y had a front seat passenger who was identified as Alexis Newcomb of Ashburnham, MA. Alexis Newcomb sustained serious injuries and was transported to William W. Backus Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
