DCYF: Near fatality of 10-month-old child likely abuse
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 22, 2020) –A ten-month-old male child from Providence was admitted to Hasbro Children’s Hospital on May 17, according to DCYF.
The family had prior DCYF involvement, but they were not open to the Department at the time of the child’s admission to the hospital.
The Department has conducted an investigation and has determined that the child’s condition is likely to have been the result of maltreatment.
Pursuant to state law, DCYF notified the Office of the Child Advocate of the report.
Due to confidentiality laws, no additional information is available.
