93-year-old motorcycle rider seriously injured in Plymouth County hit-and-run incident
Police are looking to identify a pickup truck involved in a hit and run incident that seriously injured a motorcycle rider.
According to police, at approximately 12:17 p.m., Plymouth Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in the area of 2171 State Road (Route 3A).
Initial investigation determined an earlier model dark colored pickup truck (No registration provided) attempted to pass a Honda SUV traveling northbound when it almost struck a motorcycle traveling south. It appears, to avoid the pickup truck, the motorcycle struck the side of the Honda causing serious injury to the motorcycle operator.
According to scanner transmissions, the motorcycle victim was a 93-year-old man suffering from severe foot trauma and the loss of a finger. He was transported to a regional hospital by MedFlight and is expected to survive.
