8 displaced from early morning 2-alarm fire in Fall River

Firefighters in Fall River extinguished an early morning fire that displaced several residents.

According to Captain Eric Caffrey, a call came in just before 1:00 a.m. for heavy smoke showing from the eaves at 522 South Almond Street.

Upon arrival, several crews attacked the third floor 2-alarm blaze in addition to checking the attic of the three-story home.

By 1:23 a.m. the fire was deemed under control and at 2:13 a.m. the flames were fully extinguished.

Caffrey stated that no injuries were reported, however, 6 adults and 2 children were displaced.

Approximately $150,000 of damage was done to the home in addition to $150,000 to property inside the residence.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
