8 displaced after flames, heavy smoke, damage 3-story home in Fall River
Fall River firefighters extinguished a fire in the Flint on Sunday evening.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., a call came in for a still alarm at 321 Flint Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke showing on the first floor and minor smoke on the second floor of the three-story building.
According to Fire Chief Roger St. Martin, the fire was under control at approximately 8:00 p.m.
6 adults and 2 children are displaced and will be aided by the Red Cross.
St Martin stated that there was moderate fire damage to the first floor where the flames originated. There was also damage due to heavy black smoke throughout the home.
No injuries were reported.
District Chief Costa was at command of the incident with 3 engines, 2 ladders, heavy rescue 1, and cars 2 and 3 responding to the scene. Fall River EMS medic unit also responded.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
