5 shot, one stabbed, at large party in Brockton according to Plymouth County District Attorney
Massachusetts State Police Detectives and Brockton Police are investigating after several people were shot or stabbed at a Brockton party overnight, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 9:50 p.m. last night, a female victim walked into the Brockton fire station on Main Street and requested medical assistance. The victim was suffering from stab wounds and given medical treatment, but then refused further treatment and left the station. Brockton Police responded to the area and attempted to speak with the female victim, who was uncooperative. The same victim later called Brockton Police, requesting further medical assistance and she was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.
Officials state that at approximately 10:35 p.m., Shotspotter notified the Brockton Police of six gunshots in the area of Laureston Street. Brockton Police responded to 124 Laureston Street and found a large crowd congregating in the yard and in the street. Brockton Police learned that five male victims had been shot and were transported to area hospitals. Brockton Police contacted State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office to assist in the investigation.
A preliminarily investigation has found that 124 Laureston Street was rented and a large party occurred outside of the residence. During the party, one female victim was stabbed and left the party. In total, there were six victims, five males and the female stab victim. None of the victims are from the city of Brockton.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
