49-year-old Plymouth woman killed, another injured, in fiery late night wrong-way highway crash
A Massachusetts woman has been killed after reportedly driving the wrong way on a local highway.
According to MassDOT, the fatal crash took place on Route 3 Southbound in Duxbury near Exit 20 just after 9:00 p.m.
One of the vehicles caught on fire and the collision left one dead and another injured.
According to CBS Boston, the wrong-way driver was 49-year-old Janelle Sampey of Plymouth. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The other driver involved in the crash was transported to a local hospital.
Those who knew Sampey were understandably shocked and heartbroken over the sudden loss of their friend and loved one.
The highway was closed for several hours, and traffic was detoured to exit 20.
The incident is under investigation.
