35-year-old who worked for City of Fall River School Department, involved in Little Theater, passes away unexpectedly

Cecily P. Arruda, 35, of Dartmouth, fiancé of Glen Gonzales, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Clement Arruda, Jr. and Suzanne F. (Mercier) Arruda.

  She worked for the City of Fall River School Department as a Paraprofessional for many years, a job she truly loved. An avid reader, she also enjoyed participating in the Little Theater of Fall River. She was kind, selfless, and a devout Catholic who lived her life helping others. Most notably, Cecily loved her family dearly and was a loyal and dedicated caregiver of her Vo Vo.

  Besides her Mom and Dad, she leaves her loving grandmothers, Odilia Arruda (late husband, Clement Arruda) and Lucille Mercier (late husband, George Mercier); her four aunts, Paula Arruda and Louise MacDonald, both of Dartmouth, Diane Sholan of Vermont, and Jean Jennings of Rhode Island.

 Cecily’s funeral service information will be released at a later date.
