32-year-old Fall River man accused of robbing 76-year-old woman
A Fall River man is being accused of robbing a senior citizen recently.
According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira of the Fall River Police Department, 32-year-old James Smith was arrested on April 19 for unarmed robbery.
The incident occurred on April 10 when Smith allegedly followed the 76-year-old victim from a convenience store on Stafford Road and took her purse from a pushcart as she made her way home. The incident was spotted on video surveillance.
Smith is charged with unarmed robbery of a person over the age of 60. He also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
