3-year-old Massachusetts boy dies after incident at family’s business; fund started for family
A young Massachusetts boy has died after an incident at a family business, according to police.
On Thursday afternoon just before 12:45 p.m., a 3-year-old child was fatally injured after an incident at the family’s auto repair shop on South Main Street in Cohasset.
The child was transported to South Shore Hospital where the boy was pronounced deceased.
Cohasset Police Chief William Quigley stated that at this point, there doesn’t appear to be anything nefarious.
The child was brought to the police station by the child’s grandfather, who owns Hajj Auto Service, after the boy was injured at the shop.
An ambulance was also called for medical aid for a worker at the shop who witnessed the incident.
Details of what exactly happened to the boy were not released, however, WCVB reported that the boy suffered a substantial injury concerning an incident involving a skid-steer loader being operated behind the auto shop.
The family is reportedly from Hull.
The Cohasset Police Department posted on social media a fund to help the family created by Sean Cunning.
“Yesterday, Hajj Auto Care in Cohasset. Village suffered a tragic loss. An accident on site took the life of this three-year-old grandson named Mahmoud Awada.
