3 injured, driver arrested on list of charges, after Massachusetts State Police investigation into Cape Cod bridge collision

Multiple people were injured, and a driver is facing several charges after a crash on a Cape Cod bridge.

According to Massachusetts State Police, last night, at approximately 9:30 p.m., State Police responded to a 2-car motor vehicle crash on Route 25 in Bourne on the Bourne Bridge.

A Ford F-250 rear-ended an SUV, and the crash required officials to close all travel lanes to allow first responders safe access to the scene.   

Three occupants of the SUV were transported to area hospitals with various injuries, including one who required trauma care.

As part of their on-scene investigation, Troopers discovered evidence of the F-250 driver’s impairment and illegal possession of a firearm. They arrested the operator who is identified as Garret Mullen, 37, of Lewiston, Maine. He is expected to be arraigned Monday at Falmouth District Court on several charges, including:

  • Felony OUI-liquor or .08% & serious injury & negligent
  • Misdemeanor OUI-liquor or .08%
  • Felony firearm, carry without license loaded
  • Felony feeding device, possess large capacity
  • Civil speeding rate of speed exceeding posted limit
  • Misdemeanor firearm, intoxicated licensee carry
  • Civil alcohol in MV, possess open container of
  • Felony ammunition without FID card, possess

The Bridge reopened at approximately 10:40 p.m. to normal traffic.
