3 injured, 1 charged, after three vehicle collision involving two State Police cruisers

Multiple people were injured Monday night after a multi-vehicle crash involving State Troopers.

According to Rhode Island State Police, at approximately 10:15 p.m., two State Police cruisers were struck on Route 10 South at Union Avenue in Providence. The cruisers were conducting a traffic stop when a vehicle entered the breakdown lane and rear-ended one cruiser, pushing it into a second cruiser.

The driver of the vehicle, a juvenile, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor (BAC Unknown), Reckless Driving, and Driving to Endanger Resulting in Physical Injury.

One trooper and two juveniles sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.
