25-year-old South Coast man shot to death at Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz has announced a fatally in a shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon.
Today at 2:35 p.m., Massachusetts State Police and Plymouth Police were notified of a report of a male shot with life threatening injuries at Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth.
Upon arrival, it was learned that an altercation took place in a picnic area of the park and a shooting occurred. The male victim was shot several times. The victim was transported from the scene and was later pronounced deceased at Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth Hospital.
He has been identified as Robert Aponte-Flores, 25, of New Bedford.
Cruz stated that this was not a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public.
The investigation is active and ongoing at this time.
