22-year-old facing charges after 23-year-old fatally shot in Bristol County
The man detained yesterday during the initial investigation into the Saturday morning homicide in Mansfield is being charged.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at this time 22-year-old William O’Brien of Manchester-By-The-Sea is charged with Carrying an Illegal Firearm and Carrying a Loaded Illegal Firearm.
O’Brien will be formally arraigned on these charges Monday morning in Attleboro District Court.
The Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call Saturday at 11:11 am reporting a shooting at 42 West Church Street. When first responders arrived on scene, they located Samuel P. Waters, 23, of Mansfield, who was already deceased.
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office, Homicide Unit prosecutors and Mansfield Police continue to investigate the Saturday morning homicide.
