20-year-old from Fall River, 19-year-old from Westford, facing gun charges after incident

Westford (MA) – Two from Massachusetts are facing firearm charges after an incident this weekend.

According to police, on Saturday, just before 1:00 a.m., Westford Police were dispatched to 1 Tech Valley Drive, the Bell Westford Apartments, for the report of a disturbance. While officers were in route to the call, the calling party advised the Westford Public Safety Communications dispatcher that there was a group of males fighting outside of the building and believed that she had seen two male parties brandish firearms.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers located a group of males matching the description provided by the calling party in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Throughout the course of the investigation the officers located two individuals who were unlawfully possessing firearms, as neither individual possessed a license to carry a firearm.

19-year-old Christopher Salazar from Westford, and a 20-year-old Wiliam McCarthy from Fall River were placed into custody at the conclusion of the investigation and charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Disturbing the Peace, and Possession of Liquor by an Individual Under 21 years of age.

Both individuals will be arraigned on all charges at Ayer District Court on Monday morning.
