17-year-old RI teen ejected, killed, in serious motor vehicle crash
A serious crash has claimed the life of a Rhode Island teen.
According to police, on Thursday March 4th at approximately 8:38 p.m., Scituate Police, along with the North Scituate Fire Department, responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving one motor vehicle on Hartford Pike, east of Elmdale Road.
The 17-year-old female operator was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by North Scituate Rescue where she later died from the injuries she received in the crash. Police stated that she was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Family and friends have stated that Katy Hill was the victim in the crash.
Katy was described as a ray of sunshine who had a heart of gold. She was an animal lover of all animals and took time to feed rescue animals so they would feel loved.
A GoFundMe was created on behalf of the family and has raised over $6,400 as of this writing.
The crash remains under investigation by members of the Scituate Police Department. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Scituate Detective Sergeant King at (401) 821-5900.
