17-year-old Fall River teen pleads not guilty in Superior Court on murder and firearm charges

A 17-year-old Fall River teen was arraigned in Fall River Superior Court on murder and firearm charges Friday and pled not guilty.

Antwyne Robinson was arrested in Fall River and charged with murder and firearm, carry without a license. He has been held without bail since his previous arraignment in Fall River District Court and continues to be held after his appearance Friday in Fall River Superior Court, according to court records.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on October 14th, Fall River Police were dispatched to the area of 253 Locust Street for a report of a male gunshot victim.

When first responders arrived, they located the victim, later identified as 18-year-old Jovanni Perez of Fall River and East Weymouth. He was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:41 p.m.

Several shell casings were found at the scene.

The fatal shooting was one of three shootings that took place in the city in a 10-hour period.

According to WJAR, Prosecutors previously stated that Perez was walking outside of his girlfriend’s home when he was shot and killed. Authorities revealed that Perez’s girlfriend had previously dated Robinson and he allegedly made previous violent threats against the couple.

Assistant Bristol County District Attorney Matthew Lopes handled Robinson’s murder arraignment.

Robinson is being represented by attorney Kevin Reddington and has a bail hearing scheduled for April.
