17-year-old Fall River teen accused of murder previously threatened victim and his girlfriend prosecutors say

A 17-year-old was held without bail in a fatal shooting in Fall River.

According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Antwyne Robinson, of Fall River, was arrested late Thursday morning in Fall River. He is being charged with murder.

At approximately 12:15 p.m. on October 14th, Fall River Police were dispatched to the area of 253 Locust Street for a report of a male gunshot victim.

When first responders arrived, they located the victim, later identified as Jovanni Perez, 18, of Fall River and East Weymouth. He was rushed to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:41 p.m.

Several shell casings were found at the scene.

The fatal shooting was one of three shootings that took place in the city in a 10-hour period.

Robinson was arraigned late Thursday in Fall River District Court.

According to WJAR, Prosecutors said Perez was walking outside of his girlfriend’s home when he was shot and killed. Authorities revealed that Perez’s girlfriend had previously dated Robinson and he allegedly made previous violent threats against the couple.

Perez leaves behind his 2 children, ages 3 and 1.

The investigation is being coordinated by Assistant District Attorney Matthew Lopes, who also handled Robinson’s murder arraignment.

Robinson’s next scheduled court appearance is on November 17th.
