14-year-old and his father among 18 victims killed in Maine shootings

Bowdoin/Lewiston ME – The names of the deceased have been released as a Maine man wanted in shootings that killed over a dozen people and injured countless others, is still wanted.

Authorities are still searching for 40-year-old Robert Card of Bowdoin, Maine.

According to WCVB, the names of the deceased are as follows:

William and Aaron Young, a father and son, were being remembered by family members Friday through a GoFundMe fundraiser that has raised over $44,000.

“Bill was a hardworking man who was all about his family. He was always trying to make people laugh and always enjoyed life to the fullest. If anyone ever needed anything, Bill and his wife were the first to lend a hand. I couldn’t have asked for a better big brother. Aaron was a sophomore in high school who enjoyed doing anything his father was doing, watching Family Guy, and bowling. He really was a gentile and thoughtful kid.”

On Thursday evening, law enforcement officials were on Meadow Road in the town of Bowdoin to execute several search warrants, however, Card was not there.

According to Maine State Police, at 6:56 p.m., Wednesday, Auburn Communications Center was notified that a man walked into the Spare Time Recreation on Mollison Street in Lewiston and began shooting. This was confirmed by multiple 911 calls that followed.

At 7:08 p.m., The Auburn Communications Center received multiple calls that a man had come into Schemengees Bar and Grille Restaurant on Lincoln Street and began shooting.

Multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scenes.

At 8:06 p.m., police released a photo of Card to the media.

At 9:26 p.m., the Lewiston Police Department received a call identifying the man in the distributed photos as Card.

At 9:56 p.m., the Lisbon Police Department notified Lewiston Police that they had located a white Subaru at the Pejepscot Boat Launch in Lisbon. The vehicle was identified as belonging to Card.

Police have confirmed that there were seven people killed at Sparetime Recreation, and eight people killed at Schemengees Bar and Grille. Three additional people died after being transported to Central Maine Medical Hospital in Lewiston for treatment. An additional 13 people were injured in the shootings.

Over 350 law enforcement personnel have been involved in the search for Card, comprised of officers from all over the state, and national agencies as well.

Maine State Police had issued a shelter in place order and school closings to include the towns of Bowdoin and Lewiston that have since been lifted.
