An 18-year-old Massachusetts teen killed in a crash on Monday morning is being remembered.

According to police, the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. on Quaker Street in Northbridge.

The preliminary investigation suggests that 18-year-old Maverick Westcott from Milford, Massachusetts was driving a 2010 Honda Civic southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road, flip over a guardrail, strike a tree, and go down an embankment.

The car’s roof was crushed, trapping Westcott inside.

Emergency crews extricated him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles appear to be involved, and no additional injuries were reported.

A GoFundMe fundraiser created for funeral expenses stated that Westcott “was far too young but, in his time, left an impact on others that most people cannot do. We all loved him, and he loved everyone so hard with everything he had.

Others described Westcott as a sweet soul with a big heart.

His services have not yet been announced.

The Northbridge Police, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s office, are investigating the crash.
