1-year-old Massachusetts child killed by fallen tree
A child has succumbed to injuries sustained after a terrible accident.
At about 7:45 p.m. Friday, Townsend Police, Fire and EMS responded to New Fitchburg Road for a report of a child injured by a fallen tree. Upon arrival, first responders learned that a 1-year-old boy, while being held by his father, had been struck by the tree. The father was not injured, other than a few scratches on his forearm.
The child was taken by ambulance to a nearby landing area, then flown by medical helicopter to Tufts Medical Center in Boston with serious injuries.
According to Channel 7 News, the boy was pronounced dead on Sunday.
