Young child injured after reportedly being bitten in the face by dog on Cape Cod

A young child was injured over the weekend after being bitten by a dog on Cape Cod.

According to scanner transmissions, at just after 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, a call came into dispatch for a 14-month-old child who had been bitten in the face by a dog on Camden Lane in Mashpee.

The incident was shortly upgraded to a priority one.

The dog was secured to the backyard as first responders arrived on scene.

The victim was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island.

A request for more details on the incident from Mashpee Police has not yet been returned.
