Work to take place on Veterans Memorial Bridge in Fall River, Somerset, this week
If you drive on the Veterans Memorial Bridge during the week, be prepared for some disruption.
MassDOT has scheduled routine inspection work of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Fall River/Somerset.
Weather permitting, work will begin on Monday, April 20, and will continue through to Friday, April 24, during the daytime hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The work will require alternating lane and shoulder closures in the northbound and southbound directions of Route 79. In addition, travel will be maintained but lanes will be narrowed on the ramps that take traffic from Route 79 southbound to Route 6 westbound and on the ramp that takes traffic from Davol Street in the northbound direction.
Note that, according to a spokesperson for MassDOT, the work is subject to change without notice.
