BROCKTON — A woman killed in an alleged fatal domestic violence incident is being remembered.

According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz, 44-year-old Reynald Biamby of Mattapan was arraigned earlier this month in Brockton District Court on one count of murder, to which he pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail.

Brockton Police received a 911 call and responded to 341 Centre Street. Upon arrival, officers and emergency personnel discovered the body of a deceased woman, later identified as 36-year-old Rose Lacroix of Mattapan.

Biamby was found with injuries and was transported to a Boston hospital for treatment.

Brockton Police contacted Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, initiating an investigation.

During an interview at the hospital, Biamby told officers that he and Lacroix were engaged in a verbal argument that escalated when she stabbed him with a knife. He claimed they struggled over the weapon, and he ultimately used it to fatally stab her in the neck. He admitted to not attempting to leave the situation after gaining control of the knife.

Following the investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Biamby, who was taken into custody after his hospital release.

According to those who knew her, Lacroix worked at Elizabeth Seton Residence Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wellesley.

“Rose was a beloved member of our nursing team, whose compassion and care for others was evident in her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her patients consistently complimented her kindness, noting the attention she paid to their comfort, dignity, and safety.”

Biamby is scheduled to appear in court on August 5, 2025, for a probable cause hearing.
