Woman killed in Fall River pedestrian crash remembered as giving woman of God as services announced
A 67-year-old Dartmouth woman killed after being struck by a box truck on Joseph Drive in Fall River is being remembered as services have been announced.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at around noon on Wednesday, two victims, the driver of the box truck, and three others were at 214 Joseph Drive to pick up a dresser. The six individuals were all employees or volunteers for the non-profit organization known as My Brother’s Keeper, which organizes drop offs and pick-ups of donated furniture.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of the box truck, a 25-year-old Taunton woman, backed the truck up and struck two volunteers who were behind it.
Jean Revil died from her injuries. An injured man was last listed in critical but stable condition at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.
According to an obituary, Jean “was employed as a schoolteacher at Bishop Stang High School for 33 years. She was also a coach and campus minister. Jean also taught adult formation classes at St. Joseph’s and St. Michael’s Church in Fall River. Jean also had worked many years at the Waring-Sullivan and Rock Funeral Homes.”
Jean loved her family and friends dearly and was a devout Catholic and longtime communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church. She was also a member of the Catholic REC Ministry at the Dartmouth House of Correction for more than 20 years.
The common theme expressed by those who knew Revil is how well she treated people and how important her faith was to her and that she lived it on a daily basis by her kindness and selflessness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 10:00AM in St. Julie Billiart Church, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth, MA 02747. Relatives and friends are invited.
