With winter set to begin, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, expected to see accumulating snow, frigid temps
Winter begins on Saturday and apparently mother nature received the memo for southern New England.
According to the National Weather Service, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut are expect accumulating snow from a coating to up to 3 inches beginning on Friday night and into Saturday afternoon.
This weekend, lows are also expected to be in the low teens.
Here is the forecast:
Friday
A chance of rain after 10am, mixing with snow after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 39. Northeast wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Friday Night
Snow likely, mainly between 9pm and 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 24. North wind 8 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Saturday
A chance of snow showers, mainly before 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. North wind 8 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Saturday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 14. Northwest wind around 8 mph.
