With school info released, Fall River students are headed back and the city is celebrating
Fall River students will be returning back to school this week and their attendance is being celebrated throughout the city.
The Mayor/Superintendent’s Attendance Task Force is once again assembling residents from all walks of life to help launch the upcoming school year by demonstrating to students and their families that school attendance really does matter.
Community members on Wednesday, August 29th, rain or shine, will form long gauntlets outside of each Fall River elementary and community school to high five students as they begin their first day of the new school year. As was the case last year, the task force envisions gauntlets that will include firefighters, police officers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, bankers, business owners and workers, elected officials, neighborhood residents and more, many dressed in work garb, all welcoming students back to school while celebrating the importance of good attendance.
In the theme of children getting back to school, here is some useful information to start the school year.
