With new COVID-19 numbers released Saturday, protest held outside Governor Baker’s home

As the new COVID-19 numbers were released for Massachusetts Saturday, a group against the stay-at-home order staged a protest outside Governor Baker’s home.

Massachusetts has seen 1,512 more positive cases in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 84,933 with 113 more reported dead for a total of 5,705.

Massachusetts had seen 1,685 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

Testing continues to be ramped up as 12,410 tests were performed, almost 2,000 less than the total released yesterday, to increase the overall total to 448,089.

Hospitalizations continue to decrease in Massachusetts.

According to the CDC, as of May 15th, the total amount of cases in the country is 1,412,121 with 85,990 dead.

In related news, a protest took place at 2:00 p.m. outside of the home of Governor Baker Saturday in response to the dissatisfaction of the Massachusetts economy not being fully open.

In a statement prior to the rally, the group, Super Happy Fun America, who organized the Boston Straight Pride Parade, issued a statement about the event.

“The people will not be terrified into giving up their freedom in exchange for a faux security. The politicians, bureaucrats, and media remain gainfully employed while they callously dismiss concerns about the impact their decisions have upon our jobs, wages, and well-being. Our campaign will continue until the Governor and his minions let the people get back to work.”
