Winter Weather Advisory issued for Providence, Northern Bristol County, Warning issued in parts of Northern MA
A new Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of the area.
According to the National Weather Service, wet snow is expected for northern Bristol County.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches is expected with the heaviest snow north of Providence, Taunton and Plymouth.
The advisory is in place for Northern Bristol MA, Western Plymouth MA and Eastern Plymouth MA Counties. In Rhode Island, Southeast Providence RI County from 1 AM to 10 AM EDT Saturday.
A Winter Storm Warning is also in effect for the east slopes of the Berkshires and Worcester County, for 4-8 inches of snow overnight.
Locally, roads may become snow covered as rain changes to a period of heavy snow. Plan on slippery road conditions.
A period of heavy snow with snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour are possible for a few hours between 3 and 6 AM.
For Fall River, rain tonight before 3am, then rain and snow. Low around 35. Southwest wind 7 to 15 mph becoming east after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
On Saturday, a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Northeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
