Winter Weather Advisory issued for parts of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut as forecasted snow totals increase
Forecasted snow totals have increased, and an advisory has been issued as a coastal system is expected to bring widespread snow to southern New England.
According to the National Weather Service, a new Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and all of Connecticut for Sunday into Sunday night.
Snow will likely begin Sunday morning or afternoon. The steadiest and most impactful snowfall is expected late Sunday afternoon and evening, particularly across southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Conditions will improve as precipitation ends after midnight.
Expected snowfall totals for Sunday: 3-5 inches (localized amounts of 6 inches): Southeast Massachusetts and Rhode Island. 2-4 inches: Northern Connecticut through central and northeast Massachusetts. 1-2 inches: Northwest Massachusetts.
