Some messy weather is expected to impact almost all of southern New England later this week.

According to the National Weather Service, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, excluding the Cape and Islands, will be under a Winter Weather Advisory from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 4 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze are forecast.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.

Snow is expected to overspread the region between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday. The snow will then change to a mixture of sleet and freezing rain as the day wears along. Mixed precipitation may change to all rain before near and especially southeast of the Boston to Providence corridor. Temperatures northwest of I-95 will likely remain below freezing into the evening rush hour.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.
